Statement from bulletin

We proclaim Jesus Christ, both God and Man, as Lord and Savior. We
stand wholeheartedly on the teachings of the Bible as God's Divinely
inerrant Word. We are a Bible-teaching church. We leave political
and inspired, social advancement to the sphere of our responsibility
as Christian citizens, while in the church we concern ourselves solely
with our God-appointed business: The salvation of immortal souls
through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Worship service broadcast is set for Wednesday from 9 to 10:15pm and
on Saturday and Sunday from 7:45 to 9am on the local public access

Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member congregation of the
Evangelical Lutheran Synod, is a
conservative orthodox congregation in the tradition of confessional
Lutheranism as defined in the unaltered Augsburg Confession of 1530.
Messiah maintains a strict adherence to the Biblical mandates in the
inerrancy of scripture, infant baptism, sin and repentance, and the
real presence of Jesus Christ in Holy Communion.
We are a member congregation of the
Evangelical Lutheran Synod, a
synod in fellowship with the
Wisconsin
Evangelical Lutheran Synod, united in a common love of God's Word.
It is dedicated to the spreading of the three great principles,
the
Word alone - by grace alone - by faith alone, which are the
heritage of the Lutheran Church.
Adult Bible class and Sunday School
Sunday morning adult Bible class runs simultaneously with the
children's Sunday School program, offering adults an opportunity to
participate in an in-depth study of God's Word. Topics vary according
to the needs, interests and concerns of the Bible study participants.
Wednesday Bible Study
Wednesday Bible Study takes place at the Omro Community Center at 6:30
pm. The Community Center is located at 130 West Larrabee in Omro.
All are welcome to attend our Bible study.
Junior Confirmation
A comprehensive instruction program is offered to assist parents in
their responsibiity of preparing their children for publicly assuming
responsibility for (confirming) the vows made at Baptism. The
curriculum, based on Luther's Catechism, is taught in a flexible
environment designed to meet the educational and schedule needs of
each individual student and their family.
Adult Information Course
The goal of this course is to provide information on the basic
teachings of Christianity. This course is for people who have a
curiosity about such or the beliefs and practices of confessional
Lutheranism. It is for those who have any interest in our church and
want to know what we believe, teach and practice. Finally, it is
designed for people who are thinking of joining our church so that
they can become a part of our united confession of the teachings of
Scripture. There is no obligation to join our church associated with
taking this course. The course consists of six classes that are held
either in an individual, couple or group setting. Each class lasts
about 60-90 minutes and is scheduled to meet the needs of the
participants. There is no cost for the course or the materials
received. Send Pastor Haugen an
e-mail if you would be
interested in attending a class or enrolling in the course.
Messiah's Choir
The choir enhances the worship setting for special occasions and events during the church year.
Description of ELS
The Evangelical Lutheran Synod is today typically
"American," that is, it is a "melting pot" of
every nationality and background. It had its origin among the early
settlers of Norwegion descent. As orthodox, confessional Lutherans,
we emrbace as our primary confessions of faith the symbolical books of
the Evangelical Lutheran Church contained in the Book of Concord of
1580, namely the Apostles', Nicene and Athanasian Creeds, the Augsburg
Confession and its Apology; the Smalcald Articles; Luther's Small and
Large Catechisms and the Formula of Concord. We accept these
Confessions, not in so far as, but because they agree with Scripture,
and we believe that they are a correct exposition of the teaching of
God's Word. Adherence to these confessions, drawn from Scripture, is
in keeping with St. Peter's exhortation: "Always be prepared to
give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the
hope that you have" (1 Peter 3:15).
